As the executive producer of Majestic Media, I will likely need some help later on. I’ve come up with numerous project ideas, and I only have a limited amount of time to work on all of them. So getting help would be appreciated. Do you like my content? Do you have a background that you think would make you a valuable asset to help complete any of my projects? Here’s the deal I’m going to offer you.
The arrangement:
Every worker should have the financial motivation of a share in the work they produce. If you put in a lot of effort editing videos for me, I want to see your paycheck increase just as much as mine does. It seems only fair and will produce an incentive to deliver quality work, quickly. I’ve long been inspired by the employment model of that one CEO, who gave his employees equal shares of the profit, and as a result, the company’s profits soared. So here's the plan.
Once a month, I’ll sit down and run the numbers. I’ll review the YouTube Analytics for each project’s set of videos, track the funds coming in from our curators, and calculate the funds coming in from our sponsors. Add that all up, and I’ll have a total for how much profit each project generated. As a producer, I would give you the freedom to choose which project you want to help out with. It just makes sense to put you on the project you're most excited about helping with. Therefore, the total for your assigned project is the funds you helped bring into Majestic Media. It’s only right that you get a fair cut of those funds.
Next, we’re going to take 50% out of that number. This will cover operating costs, and will be allocated towards further funding the projects. That remaining 50% goes into the payroll account. As a producer, you have one share of this account. As the executive producer, I will have one share of this account. So, if it’s just you and me working on a project, and that project brings in $10,000 that month, $10,000 divided by the two total shares on the project means you just made $5,000 for your work this month.
This creates an incentive to do more work. Your paycheck is directly affected by the amount of work you do. If at any time you feel that we could use another hand, another producer, you must be willing to factor in the new share. Now that $10,000 is divided among three shares, however, you have to keep in mind that with a new producer helping out, you’re now increasing the work output, producing twice as many videos per month. As a result, the project is now bringing in $20,000 to split among the shares. So everything should theoretically balance out in the end.
Want a paycheck once a month? Every 2 weeks? Weekly? Please let me know how you would like it, and I’ll arrange it accordingly. It’s your money, you helped Majestic Media make it, so you deserve a fair share of the profits. Does this sound like a job you want?
Here’s what I need from you:
A resume or LinkedIn link that showcases your background.
Sample work, if available.
Documents for tax information. I’m still setting up Majestic Media, but this position will likely become a 1099 contractor position.
You need to have all the equipment to do the job, along with an internet connection. If you’re a video editor, you’ll need a dedicated editing computer.
It doesn't matter where you’re from. As long as you have the equipment and an internet connection, this position can be done remotely. I would send you the assignment, provide you with online access to the materials, and you can then produce the video and transfer it to me. Most of the positions here do not require a physical presence to complete. So applications are open for all.
