The Project: “The Order of Chaos”
The Status: In Production
The Story:
You cannot have order without chaos.
Eons ago, deep within a barren rock orbiting our star, there was a sudden burst of energy. An omnipotent being, known as the Majestic, took shape and came into existence.
When the being awoke, the planet's core began melting, providing warmth to the surface. Steam and atmosphere were released from the rock, rising through cracks to the surface. The skies turned blue, and rain poured down. With the dawn of a new world, the Majestic became conscious. The great realm of the Majestic was formed.
After millennia of seclusion, the Majestic created two descendants who shared the realm. These children of the Majestic became known as the immortal Prodigy. The Majestic created a daughter named Ayu and gave her the gift of creating life. The Majestic created a son named Antaka and gave him the burden of taking life away. And thus, mortal life came into existence in the world.
The Majestic expected life to spread across the new world, but that never happened. When the Majestic gave equal power to the immortal Prodigy, life was in perfect balance. As quickly as Ayu could create life, Antaka was sure to destroy it.
The Majestic created a new mineral, now known as chaos crystal, and spread it evenly across the new world. The crystal began to absorb Antaka's negative energy, tipping the scales in favor of life over death.
In every corner of the world, life began to flourish and grow. The Majestic was pleased to see plants covering the Earth and animals filling the sea.
Antaka, on the other hand, was furious. He detested the Majestic for stripping him of power and making him less than what he was. His hatred for the Majestic was so intense that it tainted the energy emanating from the crystals.
As the chaos energy swelled within, the crystals released that pent-up energy in massive bursts upon the Earth. Storms raged, and the seas swelled. The ground shook while volcanoes erupted. The Earth became a wild and dangerous place.
The Majestic needed a method of controlling chaos. To harness it and release it slowly and in small doses. The Majestic knew the immortal Prodigy could not be trusted, so an emerging race of mortals was chosen to harness the power. The Majestic chose humans to be the guardians of chaos, knowing that in their hearts was love and compassion.
The Majestic selected eight worthy and virtuous mortals to share in the burden of chaos. The chosen in death were brought before the Majestic and presented with this great honor. They took an oath to serve the Majestic for as long as needed and returned to a new, complicated life on Earth.
Antaka saw his power being given to humans as an insult. He saw humans as a race of slaves to be ruled and conquered. Antaka, angry and vengeful, rebelled against the Majestic and created a detailed plan to control the human race and exact his revenge.
After learning of this betrayal, and with no other option, the Majestic created a barrier between the two realms. The Majestic's realm was sealed, forever sealing the immortal Prodigy in. The Realm of Earth evolved and flourished independently.
Bound by their oath and abandoned by the Majestic, those ancient humans continued to walk the Earth outside our perception. This group of mortals is known as the Order of Chaos.
After being trapped in the Realm of the Majestic for thousands of years, Antaka's plan to escape has finally found the last piece he needs. Now released upon the world, The Order of Chaos must stand against a god and return him to his realm. How do you fight an immortal god? Ultimately, the world's fate may rest on Jack, the newest member of the Order of Chaos. For some reason, recruiting Jack was the very last act of the Majestic before Antaka severed all communication between the realms. Jack is the last pawn the Majestic puts into play before disappearing. What did the Majestic know? Will Jack be able to save the Earth from the god of destruction?
The Concept:
Years ago, I had dreams of someday making movies. However, I was never in a position in which I had sufficient resources to make that dream a reality. And then the world was hit with a global pandemic. In the shadow of that time, in lockdown, and on hiatus from my usual work, I realized that although my dream of making a movie was pretty much dead, I still had a great story in my head. So I switched mediums and used that abundance of free time to teach myself everything I needed to know about how to write and self-publish a novel.
This story was initially intended to be my breakout summer blockbuster movie, which would propel me into the Hollywood spotlight. Now, it’s gearing up to be a four-book series. The story technically falls within the action, adventure, sci-fi, or fantasy genres; however, I’ve come to refer to it as a “modern day mythology.” A story with the same epic man vs the gods story that you’d find in classic mythology, but it’s set in modern times. It reveals a world just outside our perception. I’ve been writing a chapter here, a chapter there during the free time my day job leaves me, but with the freedom your funding would give me, I should be able to write more often and finish the first book.
What does the project need?
Funding: Along with every other Majestic Media Project, funding from you is the primary resource that gives us the freedom to create. It will also allow me to open a large chunk of free time currently occupied by my day job to write the books.
Time: You can’t rush it. You can't crank a book out in a month… Well, you can, but would that book be any good? I’m taking my time with this story and ensuring everything is perfect. All of that takes time.
First Printing Fund: Once the books are complete, I will need to publish them. As I learned about publishing, I realized that my skills and resources already give me a significant advantage over a traditional publisher. I’m already able to do 80% of a publisher’s work on my own. So, self-publishing is the ideal route for me to take. The only issue with that would be paying for the first edition myself. The profits of the previous printing will fund every subsequent printing, but the initial printing of the books will need to be covered by me. If you'd like to read this book series someday, your help will make it possible.
Curator Benefits:
All curators who fund this project will receive a free copy of all four books as soon as they are printed.
