The Project: “The Stories We Tell”

The Status: Planning

The Story:

Do you know someone with an interesting story? Perhaps they lived during interesting times or had an unusual event happen. Do you know a person who could entertain a crowd with stories? The stories we tell create a picture of life as it is today. Let’s paint that picture together.

The Concept:

Have you ever watched a late-night talk show interviewing celebrities and thought, I know someone far more interesting than this? Why should celebrities have all the fun?

I want to create a talk show that interviews regular people with extraordinary stories: positive stories, funny stories, tragic stories, any story you’d like to tell. I’ll create a public forum where you, the viewer, can nominate people you believe deserve to be interviewed. Tell me their story. Make your argument for why they should be chosen. If picked, we’ll arrange a Zoom interview to be recorded and edited into an episode. You get to tell your story to the world.

What does the project need?

  • Funding: Along with every other Majestic Media Project, funding from you is the primary resource that gives us the freedom to create.

  • A Producer: Anyone who knows me knows that I’m a behind-the-scenes executive producer. You’re not likely to see me on camera. So, for this project, I will be looking for a personality. I’m looking for my Barbara Walters, my David Letterman, my Larry King. Someone who will be comfortable asking the tough questions. Ideally, I’d be looking for someone with a journalism background. TV News, Newspaper, If you think you have what it takes to coerce the best version of a story out of another person in a live interview, then I invite you to apply to be a producer.

Curator Benefits:

I’m opening the nomination board up to anyone because I know a great story can come from anywhere. However, all curators will be given a way to submit their nominations at the front of the line. All curators will be given a list of the following ten stories up for nomination, and you’ll get to vote for the story you feel the world should hear.
